This guarantee covers the following areas:
- Manufacturing defects
- Material defects
- Warping
- Joinery defects
- Paint defects (when applied by us)
If any of these defects render your door unserviceable or unfit for normal use within two years from delivery date you may return your door for credit. However you will be responsible for fully-insured return freight charges and packaging.
We will determine whether our finishing and installing recommendations have been followed, and we will repair or replace the defective door as appropriate and ship it back to you at our cost.
Since we cannot control the door’s exposure to weather,
we cannot guarantee our products from defects which may arise from the wood absorbing water.
In order for this guarantee to be effective, the door must be protected from rain, snow and sun by a roof or eaves at least three feet deep and wide immediately above the door (essentially a verandah or porch roof). Wood will absorb water at any opportunity, and lack of an overhanging roof or eaves is usually the cause of most problems.
Even with some protection, a driving rain or drifting snow may wet the door, and an adequate finish must be applied to protect it on these occasions. Finish must be applied to all surfaces including the top, bottom and edges. The finish must form a film on top of the wood to be effective. Penetrating finishes are not adequate for this purpose. Paint, varnish, urethane, and some high-tech finishes will provide adequate protection.
